The incisions are then closed with sutures.

For example, some individuals may require a more extensive procedure that involves the removal of muscle and fat from the lower eyelids, while others may only require a simple removal of excess skin from the upper eyelids. Some patients may also have their blepharoplasty paired with another procedure, such as a brow lift or facelift.
How Long is Recovery After Blepharoplasty?
Recovery time after eyelid surgery varies from person to person and can range from a few days to several weeks. Immediately following the surgery, it’s normal to experience some discomfort, swelling, and bruising. Cold compresses can help alleviate swelling and bruising.
